As soon I heard the theme of the month was going to be critters, I knew exactly which stamp set I was going to use. I fell in love with the bunny from the Easter Friends stamp set the minute I saw it. My mom is known as the bunny whisper (or the crazy bunny lady…). She has the most well fed bunnies in the Las Vegas area. I could not help but think of her while making this Easter card. Not only was I able to use the cute bunny stamp, but I was also able to use a fun fold template. For additional samples, scroll the very bottom of my blog post.
Step by Step Tutorial
– Begin with a 5 ¼ x 6 ¾ card base of Misty Moonlight card stock; scored at the 2 ¾ mark using a Paper Trimmer
– Use a Paper Trimmer to cut
Pear Pizzazz card stock to 4 ¼ x 5 ½
Misty Moonlight card stock to 2 ½ x 3 ½
Basic White card stock to 2 7/16 x 3 7/16
You’re a Peach DSP to 5 x 2 ½
Basic White card stock 5 x 3 ¾ (inside)
– Adhere the scored Misty Moonlight cardstock to the Pear Pizzazz card base using adhesive of choice (I used liquid Tombow glue).
– Adhere the You’re a Peach DSP to the Misty Moonlight card stock “flap”.
– Stamp the bunny image onto the 2 7/16 x 3 7/16 Basic White card stock using Smoky Slate ink. Then add a touch of pink to the nose with a Watercolour Pencil. I added a very subtle shadow underneath the bunny with a grey Watercolour Pencil.
– Adhere the stamped bunny image to the Misty Moonlight 2 ½ x 3 ½ card stock
– Adhere the layered stamped bunny image to the “flap”. Be mindful where you are applying the glue! Apply it to the top only.
– Adhere the Basic White card stock 5 x 3 ¾ to the “inside” of the card
– Stamp sentiment of choice in Smoky Slate. (For an added touch, I then embossed the sentiment in clear embossing powder & heat set with the Heat Tool. This technique works best using the Stamparatus to keep it all aligned.)
– I added a few Brushed Brass Butterflies for a subtle bling
– For the final touch, I dressed up the envelope with a coordinating piece of DSP glued to the envelop flap & fussy cut.
